This year we have opened singing classes with the help of our volunteer Lizzy.
She has organised a partnership with a student lead choir from Durham University to establish a language and cultural exchange through music. They will collaborate by
singing the song Lean on Me, with both Spanish and English lyrics.
To get to know their partner choir, Lizzie’s students have sent videos asking questions like ‘what is your favourite song?’ to the students at Durham and vice versa.
They are filming an “in the making of” video with hopes to show the partnership process. Once complete, you will be able to find this on our social media! @santamariaeducationfund
Their aim for the final product is to produce a video with the students from Santa Maria singing some parts of the song whilst the students from Durham sing the verse, chorus and harmonies.
