On 8th September each year Santa Maria celebrates its patron’s saint’s day with various festivities. This year we were invited to take part in a music festival in the lead up to the 8th itself. Some of our Food Tecnhology students performed a traditional Paraguayan dance and others sang and played the guitar. Our most advanced harp students also performed (left to right Antonia, Sarah, Monse and Fiorella, they were joined by Sabrina who is not pictured). They played three traditional pieces: Paraguari, Caturi Abente and Despedida.
