Back to classes

At the beginning of March the government allowed in-person classes for all subjects for the first time since the start of the pandemic. We, both teachers and students, are delighted to be back in the classroom, though the situation is very much still a delicate one here in Paraguay. Indeed locally there are more Covid cases now than there have been at any other point. We are following government guidelines to keep our classrooms safe and we have started pretty much our full English programme. We have three excellent volunteers with us, Michelle (Durham), Ruby (Cambridge) and Hector (Cambridge).  The Food Technology course has also restarted, though we are having to do an online entrance course and cap the number of students allowed in. We normally accept everyone who wants to study in the Institute, but this year we simply cannot have such a big group and stick to the regulations. All universities are still doing online classes, with the exception of some practical subjects.
