August 2014: a new Treasurer is appointed

Stephen for August newsIn August Margaret returned home to the UK and the statutory Trustee meetings were held.  As you might remember, last year we lost our treasurer of many years standing, Matthew O’Sullivan, and had put out an appeal for someone to take over the position.

We were delighted to receive an application from Stephen Dunne, who had been a volunteer in Santa María in 2011 and therefore knows our work at first hand. He brings welcome young blood into the enterprise – he graduated from Oxford in 2013 and is now working in the Civil Service.  Matthew and he worked closely to secure a seamless handover, and we are very glad he has joined our team here in the UK.

Donations should not be sent direct to him but to the Honorary Secretary Catherine Brady: this is to speed up the process of sending thank-you letters. Full details on our Donations page.
