An excursion round all the Reductions

Soledad en SMIn October we took the second-year Food Technology students from the Institute on the regular annual excursions to all the Paraguayan Jesuit Reductions: first the Ruins of Trinidad, Jesús and San Cosme y Damián; then, two weeks later, the Jesuit Museums of Santiago, Santa Rosa and San Ignacio; and finally the best museum of all, just down the road – the Santa María museum (pictured here)

Ruins 2CThere was, as always, great enthusiasm for going on these trips, which are beyond the financial means of our students. Sick students managed to get better, absent students decided they had not dropped out after all, and a great time was had by all. This photo shows the students at the ruins of Jesús.

Santiago 2CAnd here they all are in Santiago with the statue of the founder P. Noel Berthod SJ.
