Eleven of the candidates for Starters were from our free programme in Santa María, and two were pupils of one of our more advanced students, Rosa Ramírez, who runs a weekly class in San Ignacio. The children are seen here in front of the mural that adorns the Institute wall. It was a hot spring day, the children all enjoyed the papers and felt happy that they had done themselves justice. The examiner from the Anglo also went away feeling satisfied that all had gone well: he always worries, he said, about what he should do if there were a power cut during the Listening exam.
