The student for Iona this year is Abrahan, and he spent a few days in late February in London before travelling to Iona. He had the joy of meeting up with several old friends who had been his volunteer English teachers in Santa Maria, including Suzie Hance, Dorota Sakwerda, Stephen Dunne (who is now our treasurer, and is on the left in the photo) and Alice Gimblett (who trotted him round Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, the Changing of the Guard, the Royal Albert Hall, the V & A, etc etc).
Alice writes: “We had a great time with Abrahan…it was lovely showing him the sights and watching his reaction to stuff. I made him try sushi, champagne, crumpets, marmite, scones and earl grey!”
